Tanyan Sutphin scored 15 points in the fourth quarter and 20 total points Tuesday as Floyd County rallied late to defeat Carroll County in a Three Rivers District game in Hillsville.
Carroll County (2-14, 1-6 Three Rivers District) outscored Floyd County (6-10, 2-5 Three Rivers District) 18-10 in the third quarter to turn a 37-32 halftime deficit into a 50-47 Cavaliers’ lead. Led by Sutphin, the Buffaloes scored 25 points in the final period to complete the comeback. Cayden Sutphin added 19 points for Floyd.
Despite the loss, Adam Horton had a huge night for Carroll County, going off for 39 points. Teammates Ian Herman and Andy Garland netted eight points each for the Cavaliers.

Noah Atwood led four players in double figures Wednesday as George Wythe defeated Carroll County 76-60 in a non-district contest in Hillsville.
Atwood led the Maroons with a game-high 27 points and Josh Reeves added 13 for George Wythe, who improved to 14-2 overall with the victory. Ty Farrow and Jake Martin both scored 12 points for the Maroons. Carroll County led 20-17 after the first quarter but the Maroons outscored the Cavaliers 45-12 in the second and third quarters.
Adam Horton scored 24 points to lead Carroll. Weston Burcham also cracked double figures for the Cavaliers with 10 points and Jackson Hull added eight points.
